At 18 kms in the north of Angouleme, the Abbey of Saint Amant de Boixe was one of the most ancient monastic center of the region, after the Abbey of Saint Cybard in Angouleme (in ruins now). Be amazed by the history and the architectural richness of this site. In this place, men have lived and had a huge influence. Understanding the romanic architecture is going to the discovery of these men’s life.
The visits can be guided. Thematic visits are organized to discover different views of the Abbey (visit from the top to the bottom of the Abbey, visit of the crypt and the church tower, visit in the moonlight…).

Opening hours :
From December to February : the weekend from 3pm to 6pm. The other days on booking only.
From March to May and September to November : from Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 12 o’clock and 2pm to 6pm, Weekend and bank holidays from 3pm to 6pm.
From June to August : from Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 1pm and 3pm to 7pm, Weekend and bank holidays from 3pm to 7pm.
