Contained within the 1 million litres of water are over 5000 marine animals representing 300 species. The aquarium was created by Maurice Chichportiche and was opened in 2002.
An artificial shipwreak can be seen in its largest tank – the “Fosse Aux Requins” – which also houses sharks and rays.
In an area called “The Five Senses” visitors are able to touch some of the fish.
