Inaugurated in December 2007, Mare Nostrum Aquarium in Montpellier. has been extended with over 800 square metres and was opened to the public in April 2011 providing visiting time of up to two and a half hours. This aquarium is now one of the favorite places for tourists to visit in the area. In less than four years it has became the second most visited tourist site in the Languedoc-Roussillon area.
