Today the instructors at the National Riding School are solely members of the Cadre Noir. From 1815 the ecuyers of the Cadre Noir were the riding instructors at the Cavalry School. Today they are forty three in number, and are responsible for the training of civilian riding professionals, competitions and research, documentation and upholding tradition. They demonstrate their expertise in riding for sport and classical equitation in their celebrated presentations.
Enter the corridors of a unique school in France where the instructors are none other than the celebrated ecuyers of the Cadre Noir. Your visit of the Grand Manège, the stables and the Prestige tack room will take you on a voyage of discovery of the history of the Cadre Noir since its creation in 1815. You will discover a place where the relationship between man and horse becomes magical.
Caution: it is not guaranteed that you will see ecuyers and horses working during the guided visits, especially if the Cadre Noir of Saumur is away, or during competitions.
