This magnificent building combines aspects of a fortified medieval castle with a Renaissance stately home.

Lanquais consists of fortifications dating from the Middle Ages integrated with a partially completed Renaissance Palace built by italian craftsmen, who also worked on the Louvre in Paris ; it boasts beautiful sculpted stone chimneys dating from seventeenth century.
Lanquais has been classed as a national historic monument since july 1942 and its owned by the same family since 1732.
