Restored Steam and Diesel trains run on a 6 km stretch of line in the Vallée de la Sarre Rouge.
At its peak, this forest railway carried more than 35,000 cubic metres of timber a year to the sawmills. By 1960 the railway was in need of substantial repair and upgrading. The decision was made to switch much of the railways work to road transport. In 1966, after 75 years of service, the railway closed.
In 1969 the railway started its new life and has been contiually inproved since.
