Coudray Salbart Castle, built in the Xlll century, stands on the right bank of the river Sevre Niortaise.
Little changed, this castle is a rare example of Plantagenet architecture which is so well preserved despite the many changes of ownership. It was listed as a historical monument in 1952 and 1954.
The Plantagenet architecture gives it an original style with walkway inside the walls (the only one in France), and cruciform arrow slits with stirrups.
