Legendary peoples, sages, merchants, lords, clerics and, first and foremost, the poor, without whom the others could not have existed, have succeeded one another or crossed each other’s paths in this Dordogne valley.

Don’t worry, you won’t need to haul the boat back upstream from the towpath, as people still had to 150 years ago, to get back to La Roque Gageac.
