The golfcourse of “Le Chambon sur Lignon”, sometimes called “La Pierre de Lune”(the moonstone”) is at the foot of Mont Mezenc and the suc (volcanic plug) of Lizieux. The designer, Michel Gayon, wove his course up and down the slopes, in and out of the trees and lakes adding little but bunkers to nature. This natural landscape guarantees renewed pleasure for the golfer however often he plays the course, not least because each of the 18 holes has its own charm and character. The course is 5882 meters long (not far short of 7000 yards) with par 72.
