Hackenberg

Hackenberg

The Hackenberg Fortress was built following World War One and was, at the time, the latest thing in defensive structures. The fortress was part of the Maginot Line that was built to prevent any would-be invaders sweeping into northern France as had been the case in 1914. Did it do this? visit the fortress and find out.

The fortress even has an underground train that was used to move stores and ammunition about but now carries visitors. Even if you have little knowledge or interest in history, your visit will be awe inspiring.
