Le Chateau du Grand Jardin

Le Chateau du Grand Jardin

The beautiful four hectare gardens that surround the castle have been remarkably restored to create a seamless unity, with planting and stone architecture blending together in harmony.

The garden has two distinct parts, the formal garden (geometric shapes) of Renaissance and classical and picturesque park, also known as “romantic park.”

Near the castle, moat and extending the esplanade, lies a Renaissance garden compartmentalized with flower beds, fruit trees and square bouquetiers, topiary, a moat and a maze. There are 70 varieties of rare and old fruit trees grow on trellises in the rest of the formal garden in front and behind the castle or against the walls or on fences trellis.

The romantic park offers a fine example of 19th century gardens.
