The Petit Train de La Rhune climbes to a height of just over 900m on the mountain, after which it was named, La Rhune, in the basque Country. Built in 1924 this vintage rack railway train takes 35 minutes, travelling at 9 km per hour to reach the summit. The gentle speed allows its passengers to take in all the local fauna and flora.
From La Rhune there are panoramic views over the seven provinces of the Basque Country, spectacular views of the Pyrenees and distant glimpses of the Basque and Landes coastline.
