Reserve Africaine de Sigean

Reserve Africaine de Sigean

Located in the south of France, between Narbonne and Perpignan, on the mediterranean
coast and along salt-lakes lining the Languedoc coast, the Réserve Africaine de Sigean
hosts over 3,800 animals on over 300 hectares.
An animal park where the animals are free to wander, the open spaces on offer provide ideal
conditions for the animals able to keep their «wild» behaviour.

Over the years, the Réserve Africaine de Sigean has created a vast current interest and
sympathy for wildlife and nature. In 1989, the association Amis de la Réserve Africaine de
Sigean A.R.A.S. (Friends of the African Reserve of Sigean) appeared (Act 1901).
This association participates and helps the Reserve in its efforts with scientific research,
education or preservation of wildlife by participating in actions to conserve wildlife, by
conducting educational programs for schools, organising study tours, by awarding fellowships
to researchers.
