Sancerre

Sancerre

The Sancerre is a  medieval hilltop town in the Cher department of central France. It is noted for its wine.

Perched on rock 312 metres high, the famous medieval city of Sancerre overlooks the Loire Valley. Its numerous monuments and small medieval streets, its famous wine and goat cheese, makes this a popular tourist destination.

You can visit Sancerre on your own, just ask at the Tourist Office for the ‘guided tour map’, called ‘Le fil d’Ariane’. The Tourist Office also organises guided tours of the town for groups. Please contact them for further details.
