[post_content] => The cottage was once part of the17th century Manoir de Bodion. It has been lovingly and sympathetically restored to retain a wealth of original stone features and beams and offers self catering holiday accommodation to a high level of comfort and convenience.
The cottage sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms, has a comfortable lounge/dining room featuring a magnificent granite fireplace with log stove, a well equipped kitchen and shower room on the ground floor .
Bodion lies in 6 acres of private, peaceful grounds, mainly wooded lawns and orchard. Rougher pasture and untamed wilderness mark the outer limits with high oaks and sweet chestnuts along the boundary.
With the exception of a small dog enclosure, guests are invited to enjoy any part of the garden at their leisure, there being ample space to accommodate all tastes from peaceful reading and shady picnic spots to boisterous ball games..
A private barbecue and garden furniture; a grassed badminton/volleyball court; games room with pool table, table tennis, darts and table football; swings, slide and ball games are provided.
The heated , 12x 6m pool lies to the rear of the cottages and is surrounded by oak, cherry and sweet chestnut trees and extensive areas of open, sunny lawn.
Although many of our guests have spent much of their holiday relaxing in the garden, Bodion is a perfect base from which to enjoy the many attractions which Morbihan offers; the peace and charm of the Blavet Valley with its sleepy villages and historic buildings, the south coast (45mins) with its beaches and water sports, the idyllic islets in the inland sea of the Golfe du Morbihan, walks in the ancient woods of Lac du Guerledan
For local amenities Bodion is approximately 15 mins from the historic town of Pontivy where you will find supermarkets, restaurants and shops. Plumeliau, a 5 minute drive, is our local village; a friendly place to buy bread and croissants and fresh oysters every Sunday morning. St Nicholas des Eaux (15 mins), a charming village on the Blavet River, offers two restaurants, creperies and bars as well as river cruises and kayaking.
These, with the chateaux, museums, restaurants and a steady passage of pardons, fetes and fest noz, will, we think, ensure a varied and enjoyable holiday for all the family.

On the ground floor there is an open-plan lounge with a superb original exposed stone fireplace filling one wall, a separate dining area and a fitted kitchen. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom and shower/toilet. The open tread stair leads to first floor where there is one further double bedroom, and two twin bedrooms. Family shower room. All bedrooms are carpeted. Outside is a private garden with BBQ and garden furniture.
Ground floor is open plan in the traditional Breton style. Roof beams, trusses and original stone walls are exposed throughout. The kitchen is well equipped, has a gas full cooker, microwave, washing machine, fridge, coffee maker. Heating is by wood burning stoves and electric wall heaters. Outside: the house has its own private garden with BBQ and garden furniture. There is fishing at Lac de Dordu which is adjacent to the gardens and is stocked with large common carp, large pink, tench and perch. Fishing permits can be purchased from the owners on a daily or weekly basis which entitles fishing in all the lakes in Morbihan. The 30`x 20`shared solar heated swimming pool (open mid-May - mid-Sept), has a surrounding patio and sun loungers.

Ideal for family groups with the addition of a children's playroom aimed at age groups up to pre-school and also a new sturdy play area for them too including swings, slides, climbing frame etc, so should keep them all amused whatever the weather. For the convenience of all young families, the owners now have available: Umbrella push chair, Booster seat, Bed guards, changing mat, baby monitor, potty, toilet seat and bathroom step, hand blender, plastic cutlery, beakers and plates, sterilising unit, First aid kit, Nappy and pre-prepared baby food ordering service, plus full cream milk, bottled water, etc as required on arrival. Charles cottage sleeps 5 Near Plouguenast, and not far from Loudeac and Moncontour, this lovely group of cottages enjoys tranquil surroundings and benefits from a 7 x 4 m heated indoor pool (varies from 1.25 - 1.75 m deep) and large and well equipped games room (with table tennis/ping-pong, pool, darts and table football) and gym above the swimming pool room, along with children's play are and under-cover parking. Each cottage has its own private patio/sitting area outside for Barbequing. All kitchens have microwaves, kettles, toasters and full cooking facilities. All lounges have TV and video and there is a communal video library with a variety of tapes, numbering about 400! Communal washing machine in laundry room.
Charles Cottage has a large open plan dining and living area with a modern fitted kitchen area and good range of appliances. There is also a wood burning stove and exposed beams. There are double Doors leading to a furnished patio area and BBQ.
It has 3 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin & 1 single. There is also a family bathroom with bath with overhead shower, WC and wash hand basin. This cottage has been lovingly restored, yet retains its rustic character.
