[post_content] => Le Grand Lézard is a large spacious gite comprising of a very comfortable living/dining room with wood burner, 2 leather sofas, 2 leather armchairs, dining table and chairs, bookstand with books and board games. English satellite TV, DVD player and CD player. Ground floor WC with wash hand basin.
The gallery kitchen/breakfast area is fully equipped with gas cooker, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer, cooking utensils, cutlery and tableware, washing machine, iron and ironing board.
On the 1st floor there are two bedrooms.
Bedroom 1: One king size bed, two bedside drawer units, one clothes rail and en suite shower room with wc and hand basin.
Bedroom 2: Three single beds (one with storage drawers), one bedside drawer unit, one clothes rail and en suite shower room with wc and hand basin.
All bed linen and gite towels are provided. Cot and high chair available upon request.
There is direct and easy access from the rear of the gite to an enclosed pool area with a 10m x 4.5m swimming pool, with roman steps to the shallow end, sun-loungers and parasols, which is shared with our other gite Le Petit Lézard (#38161 search on Home page).Â
The gite has a covered front porch with electric wall light, table and chairs, overlooking the front garden with a small lawn and shrubs and two magnificent Horse-chestnut trees which provide excellent shade for outside dining.
There are several outdoor sitting areas in sun or shade with garden furniture and BBQ.
Rear garden with lawn. Private and secure car parking. Wifi.

Kitchen area equipment includes a fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, 4 ring hob and pressure cooker.
Lounge with satellite decoder (UK free to view), flat screen TV, DVD player, dining table & chairs, large settee & lounge chair.
There is free WIFI throughout this property.
The first bedroom is 12m² in size; it has a double bed, bedside tables & lamps and wardrobe.
The second bedroom is 13m² in size; it has a double and a single bed, bedside tables & lamps and wardrobe.
The bathroom consists of a shower, hand basin, WC and washing machine.
Fan, iron and ironing board are provided.
Cots, highchairs, baby baths & play rugs are supplied on request please ask for availability when booking.
The outside garden is completely fenced and has a bbq, picnic table, parasol, swing, sun lounger & chairs. The Duplex also has a second private garden with badminton court and is shaded by trees.
Our heated swimming pool is open from the 1st May until 25th September and is heated to 29°C throughout this period. It has a deep & a shallow end with very easy access for children & the elderly. The pool area is fenced & the entrance gate is alarmed to stop small children wandering into the pool area. Parasols, sunbeds & cushions are supplied as are a pool toys.
Adjacent to the pool is the games room with pool table, table tennis; book exchange, table football & a toddler's play area.
Close by is a very large playing field with a marked out mini football pitch, paddle tennis, badminton, cricket, boules & baseball. Rackets & balls are supplied. There is also a play area with a selection of swings, slide & a sandpit.
The field is surrounded with trees and within there are a couple of dens for the children to play, this spot is also ideal areas for hanging hammock's these are supplied on request.

[post_content] => This self catering gite incorporates the remainder of the stables and the former hay barn. This was originally an open fronted barn used for storing and drying the hay and straw. The double height front has allowed us to create a very light and airy feel to the downstairs lounge with French windows across the whole width. The kitchen has been opened up to the eaves and is equipped as the others with the addition of a dishwasher and a large dining table for up to 8 people.
The main entrance is via the double doors into the dining area from the private patio which on this gite is at the end of the barn. The patio is fully block paved and bordered by the garden wall on two sides and fencing and trellis on the third. Besides the outdoor dining furniture there is also a large barbecue built into the old chimney on the outside wall.

[post_content] => Once the village bakery, Columbard cottage has its own walled and gated garden (quite private, as it's on the far side of the buildings from the main lawn). There is one large bathroom, with a wc, basin and family-sized tiled bath/shower (once a stone wine cuvee). The lounge/dining room faces east over the main lawn and provides a good view of the children's play area (it's easy to hop over the low window sill if necessary)!
An adjacent covered parking space is provided.
The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, full oven, gas hob etc. and also includes a small breakfast table (an old oak grape press). There are two twin rooms above the lounge and a double bedroom with four poster above the kitchen. Bedrooms are reached via short flights of stairs off the mezzanine balcony.

L'abeille was formed from part of our largest barn once used as the wine cave and where preserves were also made when it was a working farm. L'abeille is set in rural Charente the 'home of Cognac' and is a very peaceful and relaxing holiday location, yet only a short car journey away from civilisation. With views over our field complete with ponies and pygmy goats, a great amusement for children.
