[post_content] => Recently restored and renovated, Le Gîte du Puits is very homely and comfortable, sleeping up to four people. Located in the grounds of a former Cognac distillery, the gîte adjoins La Ferme and there is an interconnecting door, which is kept locked unless the same party books both properties.

This Charentaise stone building has been beautifully renovated with great care and attention, whilst retaining all its atmosphere and charm.
All the accommodation is conveniently arranged on the ground floor.

The kitchen and dining room - The front door of the gîte leads into the fully fitted kitchen and dining room with tiled floor, original exposed beams and an antique wooden ceiling.

The lounge - The lounge offers plenty of comfortable seating and an ancient stone well feature which is now sealed but is illuminated at night. There are exposed beams and a tiled floor with rugs. One wall in the lounge reveals the original Charentaise stone and there is also a comfortable double sofa-bed.

Full-length French windows deliver plenty of light and open out onto the patio.

Bedrooms - The main bedroom is furnished with twin beds but these can be made up as a king size bed. The bedroom has exposed beams and one wall features the Charentaise stone. The bathroom has a tiled floor and is equipped with a walk-in shower, hand basin and WC. There is always plenty of hot water.

With the option of full central heating, Le Gîte du Puits is a perfect place to stay at any time of the year.

[post_content] => A quirky, charming little house in a romantic setting overlooking the mediaeval town of Confolens in the Poitou-Charentes region of France, La Petite Tour (The Little Tower) is the perfect spot for a romantic weekend or short break for two. It's equally suitable for singles. A place to chill out, re-charge the batteries, find inspiration or just watch the world go by.
The building (or part of it) dates back to to the 11th Century, when it formed part of the Porte Saint Michel gates, leading from the area of St. Michel into the mediaeval town of Confolens. A gate hook remains on the wall to this day, and the bulding is classified as an ancient monument.
It's unclear exactly when the building was first used as a house, but when the present owners acquired it in 2010, it hadn't been occupied for about twenty years. Today, the interior of the house has been transformed into a sympathetically designed, cosy living space, combining modern living requirements with the charm of some original features.
Within about 45 minutes' drive of Limoges airport and 1 hour 10 minutes of Poitiers, with easy access to the A10 motorway network and with TGV (high speed) rail connections to Eurostar from Limoges, Poitiers or Angouleme railway stations, visiting the lovely old town of Confolens is easy.

[post_content] => Our family friendly cottages or gites as they are known in France, welcome families with babies, toddlers and young children. We offer a safe and peaceful environment in which to enjoy an affordable self catering family holiday in rural France. With other toddlers and young children for yours to play with and an enclosed garden and safely enclosed swimming pool you will be able to relax with a chilled glass of wine chatting to like minded parents whilst your children
make new friends.

Papillon sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms. It was originally used for keeping animals (probably pigs - hence the name 'butterfly' ! it sounds nicer !) It has now been totally converted into a lovely cottage with terrace front and rear with charcoal barbecue. Downstairs is open plan with living and dining areas and for those who enjoy cooking up local french dishes such as moules in cream sauce - it has a very spacious kitchen area with loads of work space and cupboards for storing all those goodies purchased at the market. The low dark ceilings with ancient exposed central oak beam and the exposed stone walls, create a lovely dark, cool escape from the heat of the summer.

The kitchen is equipped with 4 ring gas hob, work top electric oven /grill, sink, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher and all the basic pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.

On the first floor is a good sized double bedroom with large wardrobe, draw unit and vanity basin; a twin room with wardrobe and a small childrens room with bunk beds and set of draws as well as hooks for hanging. The bathroom has a bath with shower facility, toilet and basin and as with all our cottages - loads of hot water and good pressure for the shower. The straight wooden staircase is open tread and is steeper than what you may be used to at home but has a stair barrier top and bottom. There is a stone step down to the doorway which may be an issue for toddlers. There is a spacious patio area front and rear with a bbq at the back and garden furniture at the front.

We can provide cots, highchairs, toddler step, booster seat, steriliser, monitors, play mats, baby chairs, child toilet seats, bedguards, pottys, baby baths and seats, changemats, hand blenders - just name it we've probably got it !

Stair barriers are standard in every gite top and bottom. There is an outside loo so children don't have to go upstairs at all during the day. We have a good selection of board games and books. We provide lots of local information and are familiar with local restaurants and beaches in the area. We have a 'day out folder' with sights you must not miss and comments from previous guests about great places they have discovered on their holiday
with us.

[post_content] => The living space is 70 square metres over two floors. Downstairs is the beautiful living / kitchen area complete with CD sound system, DVD player, 80 cm HD flat screen TV, electric cooker and hob, microwave, washing machine, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, iron and ironing board. A wii fit is provided as well as a number of books, CD's, DVD's and games. Upstairs we have two bedrooms, one is a double and the other has two single beds. Both rooms have ample storage spaces for clothes and other personal belongings. Completing the upstairs is the bathroom with toilet, washbasin and a power shower. For families of more than four we have a number of options, with a double sofa bed available downstairs in the property.

The outside space around the cottage totals around 300 square metres, included in this to the front is a covered outdoor eating area complete with barbeque, to the side of the property is a hard standing area to be used for late evening meals and drinks, facing west, taking in the end of the day sunshine and stunning views of the village. Around the cottage there is plenty of space for parking your car, and setting up your sun loungers whilst the children play safely at the rear of the cottage or on the field above the main house.

The cottage , main house, pool and garden occupies a total land area of 2,000 square metres. Above the main house is the main garden and swimming pool, a fresh water pool of 9 metres x 4 metres x 1.5 metres deep and available from around nine in the morning until late at night (from around the end of April until early October). The pool is fully alarmed to comply with regulations.

Various loungers, chairs, tables, umbrellas, water floats, balls are available for use around the pool.

The house is south facing, so the sun rises to the left side of the property (above the pool) and by mid morning the entire property is bathed in sunshine. You can then watch the sun setting to the right front of the cottage late at night.

[post_content] => modern villa set in a stunning rural location and surrounded by open fields. The Villa sleeps eight in four bedrooms, two doubles and two twin rooms, ideally planned for two small families to share with a double and twin and a bathroom on each side of the house. Two bathrooms and a large open plan sitting and dining room, good sized, fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel range cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, breakfast table, microwave, lots of storage, toaster and electric kettle, it has all the equipment needed for a comfortable and relaxing self catering holiday. Large garden with enclosed heated and alarmed 9mx4m swimming pool. Driveway with plenty of parking for several cars.

An ideal property for one large family wanting space and privacy or for two small families wanting to holiday together. The villa is set on the edge of the small rural hamlet of puy de brette in the Charente Maritime region of western France. It is a short 15min drive to all conveniences in the town of St Jean d'Angely but due to the rural location, a car is essential to explore the region and all it has to offer.

Cognac with it's distillery tours and Saintes with its Roman ampitheatre are just a 30 min drive; La Rochelle with it's aquarium, shops and restaurants and Royans La Palmyre animal park are just an hour away. There are hundreds of miles of beaches all within
an hours drive. Closer to home there is the lovely market town of St Jean d'Angely with its twice weekly market, bars and good selection of restaurants.

As one of our family friendly properties, families with children and babies are welcome and we can provide any baby and toddler equipment required.

Hirondelle villa is set well back from the village lane, it is not overlooked at all and has stunning views in all directions of open countryside offering a peaceful retreat from the pressures of modern life. The villa is accessed by a private driveway shared only by our Hirondelle and Alouette villas. The Alouette villa is our families private second home and is not available for rental. On entering the Hirondelle villa, there is a twin bedroom with draws and built in wardrobe with hanging space and shelving. The window has views over the pool. At the end of the corridor is a master bedroom with double bed, built in wardrobe and
set of draws. Windows look out over the pool and open fields. Between these two bedrooms is a bathroom with full sized bath, shower facility over the bath, modern low flush toilet and basin, good water pressure and plenty of hot water.

Off the entrance hall is a doorway through to the spacious and well equipped kitchen. There is a fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, microwave, electric kettle and full sized stainless steel range cooker with 5 ring gas hob and electric convection oven, lots of cupboard space and work top and a breakfast table too. It is supplied with all crockery and cutlery for a group of eight including childrens plastic crockery and cutlery, hand blender and high chair (more high chairs can be supplied on request)

Two open arches lead into the large sitting room with wooden flooring, comfortable seating for 8, large dining table with chair and bench seating, bookcase and plenty of space to relax and play. There are windows on 3 sides making it a lovely light area. Doors open out onto the private terrace area with wooden dining table with chairs for 8, large parasol and barbecue for outdoor entertainment. Views over open countryside. You may even be lucky enough to see a deer wandering past early in the early morning.

From the kitchen another doorway leads to the second sleeping area where there is a second master bedroom with built in wardrobe and chest of draws, a second bathroom, fully equipped again with full sized bath, shower facility over the bath, modern toilet and basin, lots of hot water (second hot water tank) and good pressure. A second twin room with wardrobe and draws completes the sleeping areas for a group of eight. Windows for these bedrooms also looks out onto open countryside and stunning views.

Outside the villa is a gravelled terrace area as mentioned before and the pool area. The pool is enclosed by fencing and is alarmed for extra safety. Please note that one of the twin bedrooms windows opens out onto the pool area. It is 9m by 5m and is 1m at the shallow end which then slopes down to a deeper 1m80, it is also heated to 28c by a heat exchanger. It is surrounded by a sunbathing terrace with sunbeds and is for the exclusive use of the guests in the Hirondelle villa.

Surrounding the villa is a large area of grass, where children can run around and play, please note however it is completely unfenced from the adjacent fields or private driveway, so young children should not be left unattended.

[post_content] => This is a delightful and spacious, two bedroom stone gîte in an enclosed courtyard. Located in the grounds of a former Cognac distillery, Le Gîte du Portail is approached through grand entrance gates and has its own large, partially shaded garden with extensive views over wonderful open countryside.

This gîte has been carefully renovated and recently modernised to a very high standard, offering spacious accommodation for up to four people. Le Gîte du Portail is surprisingly large inside with thick stone walls, making it beautifully cool in summer and very cosy in the winter.

The living room - On the ground floor is a comfortable fully equipped lounge and dining room.

The kitchen - The attractive and practical kitchen with a tiled floor and beamed wooden ceiling offers plenty of storage. A spiral staircase leads to a large upper hallway with access to the bedrooms and the bathrooms.

Bedrooms - Upstairs are two sizeable bedrooms. The main bedroom is approximately 6m x 5m, with a beamed, vaulted ceiling and has a super king-size bed. This room has an en-suite shower room with hand basin and WC. A feature of this bedroom is a stained glass window, hand-crafted locally in Vinax by an artist who has renovated windows of Salisbury Cathedral in England. The second bedroom has twin beds. [post_content] => Located in North Deux Sevres, it is the perfect location to visit the Anjou and Loire Valley vineyards and south to Congac and Bordeaux. Our gite sleeps 6 and has a lovely spacious sitting room and kitchen. A private garden leads you through to the inground pool where you can relax and enjoy the great summer weather. In winter time you can stay cosy around the wood burning stove. Located in the small village of Genneton, you can buy your bread daily and enjoy a café in the local bar. There are several larger towns all within a 20 minute drive all worth a visit e.g. Thouars is a beautiful medieval city with lots of stunning architecture and has a great Friday market.
