[post_content] => The one bedroomed gite Merlot is in part of the barn between pineau and Ugni-Blanc and features the oak beams and a new oak floor.
The bedroom has a built in wardrobe and a double bed with ample space for an extra bed or cot and en suite multijet shower cabinet, vanity and wc. Towels are provided but we request that you do not use them by the pool.
The large open plan living area (48 sqm) falls into 3 natural areas, on entering the gite there is a cottage style 3 piece suite seating area which leads into the galley style kitchen and dining area onwards to the the air conditioned television seating area with its vaulted ceiling.
The kitchen/dining area is well equipped and includes a dish washer, micro wave, fridge freezer, cooker, kettle, coffee maker, tea towels and cd/mp3 player.
Outside, a table and chairs sit under a pergola to provide some shade alongside the BBQ

L'abeille was formed from part of our largest barn once used as the wine cave and where preserves were also made when it was a working farm. L'abeille is set in rural Charente the 'home of Cognac' and is a very peaceful and relaxing holiday location, yet only a short car journey away from civilisation. With views over our field complete with ponies and pygmy goats, a great amusement for children.
L'abeille is highly equipped and very family and child friendly with plenty of space for a great family holiday.
Superbly equipped for even the youngest guests - window security, socket safety plugs, bed guard rails (twin room), changing mat, potty, step-ups, plastic cups, cutlery & crockery, bottle steamer, blender, cots, high chairs, booster seats, push chairs, ETC, please ask if not listed as we will probably have it or be willing to buy it if not.

[post_content] => Clairette is the largest cottage at La Vendange. The master bedroom, living room and the large kitchen/dining room face due South, so Clairette is full of space and light. Clairette features off-road parking, a private lawn, courtyard and (like all the other cottages) an outdoor dining/BBQ area which looks out over the main lawn/childrens' play area.
The large kitchen/formal dining area is open plan in the local style and is approx. 30m2.
The sitting room leads through to a downstairs double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (including a "Balneo Therapie" spa bath). There is also a downstairs wc. The double room leads through to a small annex bunk bedroom most suitable for young children as the only access is via the downstairs double. The spacious kitchen/dining room is accessed via the sitting room or from the courtyard. Upstairs there is a large master bedroom (with giant 1.8mx2.0m oak four poster bed), a shower room with wc and a twin room.
One of the highlights of Clairette is the "Zen garden" with a swinging seat and water feature. There is a second outdoor dining set on the private lawn which can easily be moved into the Zen garden.

Gite Bleu sleeps 6 in three bedrooms with two double rooms, one twin room and 1 bathroom.(with the possibility of a fourth bedroom - twin at extra charge) It has a superbly spacious and light ground floor with open plan corner kitchen and dining area, sitting area and 'library corner' . The spacious kitchen area has plenty of cupboard space and is well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, stainless steel oven, grill, 4 ring hob, toaster and microwave plus all crockery and cutlery required for a comfortable self catering holiday.
The two double rooms are spacious and light. The twin room is cosy with low ceilings so are ideal for children. The full modern bathroom with bath and shower attachment, basin and toilet, has loads of hot water and excellent pressure. Outside there is garden table and chairs and barbecue.

[post_content] => "Verdhello" is accessed from the main lawn and has a self contained downstairs area adapted to be suitable for wheelchair users. The gated private garden/bbq area has a good view of the childrens' play area and the open plan kitchen/living area is well equipped.
Leading off the back of the living area is the master bedroom with en-suite wc, spa-bath and separate shower with seat. Once a store for barrels of cognac, the aroma has sadly now gone, but the residue from the "angels share" (the part of the cognac that evaporated from the barrels) may still be seen high up on the stone walls.
The massive oak doors between the lounge and master bedroom were designed to prevent the raiding English from defiling the sacred stores of cognac during the Napoleonic wars.
Upstairs there is a twin room, a single room and a small shower room with WC and basin. Please note that the stairs are quite steep (2 stairgates are provided). There is a low beam upstairs (about 1.6m) near the shower room and single bedroom.
A parking space is provided in the covered area between the main lawn and the pool.

Downstairs is the beautiful living / kitchen area complete with CD sound system, DVD player, 80 cm HD flat screen TV, electric cooker and hob, microwave, washing machine, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, iron and ironing board. A wii fit is provided as well as a number of books, CD's, DVD's and games. Upstairs we have two bedrooms, one is a double and the other has two single beds. Both rooms have ample storage spaces for clothes and other personal belongings. Completing the upstairs is the bathroom with toilet, washbasin and a power shower. For families of more than four we have a number of options, with a double sofa bed available downstairs in the property.
The outside space around the cottage totals around 300 square metres, included in this to the front is a covered outdoor eating area complete with barbeque, to the side of the property is a hard standing area to be used for late evening meals and drinks, facing west, taking in the end of the day sunshine and stunning views of the village. Around the cottage there is plenty of space for parking your car, and setting up your sun loungers whilst the children play safely at the rear of the cottage or on the field above the main house.
The cottage , main house, pool and garden occupies a total land area of 2,000 square metres. Above the main house is the main garden and swimming pool, a fresh water pool of 9 metres x 4 metres x 1.5 metres deep and available from around nine in the morning until late at night (from around the end of April until early October). The pool is fully alarmed to comply with regulations.
Various loungers, chairs, tables, umbrellas, water floats, balls are available for use around the pool.
The house is south facing, so the sun rises to the left side of the property (above the pool) and by mid morning the entire property is bathed in sunshine. You can then watch the sun setting to the right front of the cottage late at night.
